The Rangers have bad news: a star player has apparently agreed to a three-year contract with another team.

Before his contract at Ibrox expires at the end of the season, the English midfielder has inked a long-term deal with the Turkish team, the Sports Digitale journalist claimed via X on Sunday, April 28.

Borna Barisic, a colleague of the Light Blues, has reportedly agreed to an initial one-year deal with Trabzonspor with the option for an additional season in the future. Borna Barisic has also decided to leave Glasgow at the end of the current campaign. “Trabzonspor signed a 3-year contract with John Lundstram and a 2+1-year contract with Borna Barisic from Rangers,” said Sabuncuoglu on X. Borna Barisic and John Lundstram will join Trabzonspor during the summer transfer window from Rangers. Barisic’s departure from Ibrox at the conclusion of the season seems certain for a while now. Under Philippe Clement, the Croatian international hasn’t played much this season and has had trouble staying consistent when selected.

Lundstram, though, has demonstrated that, at his peak, he is more than capable of ranking among the Gers’ top players. Sadly, his performance has declined at the wrong time, which might prevent him from being offered a new deal in Glasgow.

Although sources have indicated that talks have taken place, it doesn’t seem as though a deal has been reached. Clement has stated time and time again that he would be eager to keep the seasoned midfield player into the end of the season. From a Gers standpoint, the only silver lining is that they will be able to invest the money they save on wages over the summer. By the end of the season, perhaps, Clement will be able to leave his mark on the team.

In other Rangers news, a “absolute disgrace” of an incident during the Gers’ victory against St. Mirren infuriated Kris Boyd.
