Rangers in pole position to sign “terrific” striker in permanent deal

The Scottish Premiership season is coming to an abrupt end, and Rangers are supposedly one step closer to securing the first permanent contract of the summer for Philippe Clement.

News about Rangers transfers

Ibrox is going to have a busy summer as several players are expected to sign free agents, opening up spots for new players in Clement’s squad. As things stand, players like Ryan Jack, Leon Balogun, Kemar Roofe, and John Lundstram are all expected to leave as free agents at the end of the season.

Given that Rangers had made an effort to cling onto their midfield player and that Clement is still a fan of the former Sheffield United player, Lundstram’s departure would be especially upsetting. However, there has not yet been a breakthrough in the negotiations.

Before the new season begins, he might be exactly what the Rangers need.
Having said that, Rangers have also been concentrating more on bringing in some significant additions this summer. In what may be a summer pattern of turning loan deals into permanent ones in the upcoming months, the Gers have been linked to permanent moves for both Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva. That trend appears to be continuing with Abdullah Sima.

Rangers are now in a strong position to capture Sima from Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent contract this summer, according to Graeme Bailey. This comes after earlier rumors stated that Premier League and European teams, who are better positioned to match Sima’s £10m–£15m price tag, may hijack the Gers’ contract for the winger.

Though it appears like Rangers have the upper hand, their position at the top of the queue and their apparent ability to finance a deal put them in a prime position to sign Sima permanently following such a fruitful loan period. Certainly, the forward’s arrival would be a perfect way to start Clement’s first summer as manager.

For the Rangers, “Terrific” Sima has become essential.

Given the impression Sima has had while on loan at Ibrox, Rangers should place signing him near the top of their priority list this summer. Sima’s record of 16 goals and 2 assists after 38 games across all competitions shows how significant he has grown in just his first season with the Rangers. At just 22, he is probably only going to improve on that form the following season, whether he plays for the Rangers or somewhere else.

Among those who have recognized the winger’s potential is former Brighton coach Billy Reid, who stated via The Scottish Sun at the beginning of the season: “He’s a player who needs to be at his top physical level to show what he can do.”

“He put in a lot of effort and good training because he wanted to perform well in every session. He’s great as a boy. He was one of those lads who would walk in the door smiling every time. His personality is contagious, and despite his limited command of English, he was a constant presence in the changing room. Now that he feels at ease in the language, he must be well-liked in Ibrox.
