BREAKING: Max Verstappen Nurburgring absence confirmed as F1 champion to miss…Read more

Four-time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen is preparing for one of the most anticipated appearances of his motorsport career this weekend at the legendary Nürburgring 24 Hours, but the Dutch superstar will not take part in several public fan activities ahead of the race following security concerns from organisers.
The Red Bull driver is set to compete in the iconic endurance event for the very first time, stepping away from his usual Formula One duties to race the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo alongside an experienced lineup that includes Jules Gounon, Dani Juncadella and Lucas Auer.
Excitement surrounding Verstappen’s Nürburgring debut has reached extraordinary levels across Germany. Organisers confirmed that the event has officially sold out for the first time in its 56-year history, with Verstappen’s participation widely viewed as the key factor behind the unprecedented demand for tickets.
Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to flood the famous Nordschleife circuit throughout the weekend, hoping to witness the reigning F1 champion tackle one of the most dangerous and challenging tracks in world motorsport.
However, concerns over crowd control and overall safety have already impacted the build-up to the race weekend. Verstappen was notably absent from Wednesday’s traditional Adenau street parade, an event where drivers typically greet fans and showcase their race cars before the start of the competition.
While speculation initially suggested the entire No. 3 crew could skip the appearance, reports from the scene later confirmed that both Gounon and Auer attended the parade festivities. Verstappen and Juncadella, however, remained absent after organisers reportedly advised against their participation due to security considerations linked to the overwhelming fan turnout expected this year.
The decision is likely to disappoint many supporters who travelled specifically for the chance to see Verstappen up close during the pre-race celebrations. Several fan-focused activities had been scheduled throughout the week as part of the event’s expanded entertainment programme.
Despite missing the public appearances, Verstappen remains fully focused on the racing itself. The 28-year-old has long spoken about his desire to compete at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, a circuit feared and respected for its unforgiving layout, changing weather conditions and relentless high-speed corners.
Now, with record-breaking crowds expected and global attention fixed on the event, Verstappen’s highly anticipated Nürburgring debut is set to become one of the biggest talking points in motorsport this year.
