Adam Idah, a Norwich City loanee, has shocked some at Carrow Road with his Celtic play, according to reporter Michael Gannon.Idah, a striker, was given permission by Norwich City to leave on loan in January so that he may play more regularly outside of Carrow Road.Throughout the earlier part of the campaign, he had been a regular fixture for the Canaries, but it was difficult for him to make a significant impression because he was frequently used as a replacement.Celtic became interested in the situation and agreed to a loan. He has since established himself north of the border and has demonstrated his best form of the senior year.Idah is just one goal short of the six goals he scored in 28 Championship appearances prior to the loan move, having netted five goals in seven games for the Scottish Premiership team.His performance in Scotland has drawn notice, and it appears that Norwich City was not prepared for it either.Speaking on the RecordCeltic Podcast, Daily Record reporter Michael Gannon remarked that his parent club is “surprised” by Idah’s performance (comments courtesy of Celts Are Here). Having said that, there were those who would have expected him to secure a starting position with the Canaries.Although Idah’s 115 appearances total of 17 goals and 4 assists isn’t particularly impressive, a large portion of his games have been as a substitute.Maybe an impressive loan where he plays as the starting striker for Celtic might convince people back at his parent club that he is a reliable option to start at the top for the long term in Norfolk.Idah, though, is going to be keen to stay going in Scotland till then.He’s taken the starting position and made it his own. With five goals in his last seven games, you’d expect him to hang on if he can continue his strong play at the top of the pitch. The questionable red card given to Yang and the Hearts penalty call infuriated Carter-Vickers as the champions missed their opportunity to take the top spot in the Premiership back on Sunday.Four days later, Celtic’s hopes of taking advantage of Rangers’ error against Motherwell were ruined by referee Don Robertson and video assistant referee John Beaton, according to Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. Carter-Vickers acknowledged that such calls may cost teams leagues when asked if they could.But that cannot be the centre of our attention.All we need to do is concentrate on our own performance. We’ll be fine as long as we keep becoming better and improving. It was clearly challenging. The fact that we weren’t able to achieve the desired outcome was frustrating. Overall though, I believe we should be pleased with the performance we put up.Even when we were down to 10 men, we still created a lot of opportunities. Thus, yes, I believe there are many advantages that we may draw from it. It’s quite obvious what we need to do for the remainder of the season, win or lose. [AP/YONHAP] Celtic has appealed the decision to substitute Yang Hyun-jun during the Scottish Premiership game against Heart of Midlothian on Sunday.After hitting Alex Cochrane with a high boot during Sunday’s league match at Tynecastle Park in Edinburgh, Scotland, Yang was originally given a yellow card.However, following a VAR review, referee Don Robertson overturned that decision and awarded Yang a straight red card in the sixteenth minute. Yang has not worn a red since joining Celtic the previous year. Celtic lost 2-0 while down a man. Celtic  confirmed they will appeal the ruling in a statement posted on their official X account on Tuesday. The team said that they have “serious concerns regarding the use of VAR and the decision made within the match” in a letter to the Scottish Football Association.Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, also voiced his displeasure with the referee’s decision.After the game on Sunday, Aaron Rodgers remarked, “I know that they make mistakes and whatever else, but that felt like really poor officiating today.” “The first one, I believe, shows no force, but if you display a still photograph of it, it naturally appears to be a high boot with a head close to it. It is not how the move actually is.  Yang received his red card because he had observed an increase in the team’s performance in recent games. Prior to Sunday’s match, he had two straight assists in league games.Yang, who played as a regular winger pick for Gangwon FC in K League 1, joined Celtic prior to the 2023–24 season. Despite this, Yang struggled early in the campaign. The 21-year-old scored the team’s first goal in November of last year, but he did not play well in the aftermath, which caused Rodgers to criticise him and reduce his playing time.Given his recent performance gains, he might get back more playing time.It is unclear if he will be able to participate in Celtic’s upcoming league game on March 16 against St. Johnstone. As of the time of publication, the appeal is scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday.As of Tuesday at press time, Rangers were leading the league by two points, with Celtic in second place with 68 points.
