Iglu Cruise has appointed Paul Frost, formerly the commercial and product lead at The Cruise Line, as its new head of tour operations.
Frost, who previously worked with World Travel Holdings (WTH) and Fred. Olsen Travel, joined the online travel agency earlier this week.
Dave Mills, Iglu Cruise’s chief commercial officer, expressed enthusiasm about Frost’s arrival, highlighting his expertise, drive, and passion as key assets for expanding the company’s offerings.
The appointment follows research by Iglu, which revealed a significant surge in consumer interest in various cruise destinations over the past six years. The Canary Islands experienced a remarkable 7,954% increase in demand, while Mediterranean cruises saw a 6,228% rise between 2018 and 2024. Hawaii recorded a 2,935% growth, and Antarctica witnessed a 660% increase.
Mills noted the Canary Islands’ growing appeal as a cruise destination, attributing its popularity to the variety of islands, warm climate, and short flight times from the UK. He also pointed out that major cruise lines, including P&O Cruises and Marella Cruises, have expanded their itineraries to the region, further driving demand.
Earlier this year, Iglu Cruise received the Holland America Line and Princess Cruises Outstanding Contribution awards at the 2024 UK Cruise Awards.
