Club Brugge Fans Arrive in Glasgow for Champions League Showdown
As Celtic prepare to face Club Brugge in the Champions League tonight, Glasgow’s city centre is abuzz with the arrival of travelling Belgian supporters.
Approximately 3,000 Club Brugge fans are expected at Celtic Park for the 8pm (UK time) kick-off. The visitors will face the challenge of making themselves heard against the passionate Celtic crowd, renowned for creating one of Europe’s loudest atmospheres.
Two Club Brugge fans, spotted at the Christmas market in St. Enoch Square by Belgian media outlet HLN, donned Club Brugge scarves and traditional Scottish tartan “see you Jimmy” hats, enthusiastically embracing their surroundings.
When asked about their expectations for the famed Celtic Park atmosphere, one fan remarked, “We were told it’s incredible. It should be worth it. We’ve heard about the supporters here, but we’re confident. Club Brugge fans have a strong history of creating great atmospheres too. We’ll make some noise for sure.”
Acknowledging the importance of the match, the fan added, “Nine points are crucial. It’s a very important game today.”
Discussing their Champions League journey so far, which has included tough matches against Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, and Aston Villa, another supporter reflected on their team’s resilience: “We’ve played everywhere, including Milan. It’s unfortunate about the red card, but we competed well. At home, anything is possible, and we’ve shown we can take on top English teams like Villa.”
The scene is set for an electrifying encounter at Celtic Park.
