Rodgers Insists Celtic Can’t Blame Killie’s Plastic Pitch for Performance

Brendan Rodgers has emphasized that Celtic can’t use artificial pitches as an excuse as they gear up to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, where they clinched the title with a 5-0 victory last May despite earlier defeats. Coming off strong performances against Aberdeen and RB Leipzig, Rodgers expects a tough test against a Kilmarnock side that recently defeated Rangers.

Reflecting on Celtic’s high level of play on Rugby Park’s artificial turf at the end of last season, Rodgers said, “We can’t complain about the pitch after that kind of performance.” He acknowledged that focus and respect are crucial as they juggle multiple competitions, including the Champions League. Rodgers also looks forward to the challenge posed by Derek McInnes, whose teams, he noted, are always organized, motivated, and tough opponents.
