Dominant Celtic duo posted ‘missing’ at Lennoxtown as Rodgers set to address their status….

Celtic’s American central defenders, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty, both missed training ahead of Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock. The duo, who both started in Celtic’s impressive Champions League win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday, were absent from the session at Lennoxtown, just 48 hours before the trip to Rugby Park. Trusty appeared to suffer an ankle knock in the first half of the Leipzig match, while Carter-Vickers was substituted in the 75th minute, having only recently recovered from a toe injury, which raises concern about his fitness.

Carter-Vickers has formed a strong central defensive partnership with Trusty, who has notably improved since joining from Sheffield United. Together, they have provided Celtic with a reliable defensive foundation. Carter-Vickers praised Trusty’s performances, saying a successful defensive partnership requires time to develop, but Trusty has settled in quickly and played well alongside him. Liam Scales, who replaced Carter-Vickers in the Leipzig game, has also been a standout performer this season, according to the Celtic defender.

Celtic, currently leading the league, will face Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, but could find themselves three points behind Aberdeen if the Dons win their match against Dundee on Saturday.
