“Celtic Park’s built for a night like that,” Brendan Rodgers tells The Celtic Star

**Q: Brendan, can we start with an update on the team’s condition heading into the weekend? How’s everyone looking after Tuesday night’s match?**

**Brendan Rodgers:** “Yes, hopefully all is well. A couple of minor knocks and things that the medical team is working on, but we’re aiming for the same squad. The team’s in a great place both physically and mentally. We’ve got another day to go, so fingers crossed all goes smoothly.”

**Q: There were reports that Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty missed training. Is that accurate, and is there any concern?**

**Brendan Rodgers:** “Yes, you’re correct; they didn’t train. But it’s mostly precautionary. They’ve had a couple of intense physical days within the span of four games, so we’re letting them rest a bit with light work indoors. We’ll assess them again tomorrow.”

**Q: I imagine the team’s still buzzing after Tuesday’s victory.**

**Brendan Rodgers:** “Definitely. These past four days, starting with Saturday’s win to reach the League Cup final, were significant for us domestically. Then, to perform at that level against a top team midweek—people have called it a generational game, and I’d agree. We’ve been building toward this for 12 to 16 months. Even last season’s performances, like against Atletico Madrid and away at Feyenoord, contributed. Tuesday’s game was truly special; seeing the team’s aggression with and without the ball against a top opponent was thrilling. It was a night to remember for the players, the club, and the supporters. But now, it’s time to refocus on our next challenge against Kilmarnock.”

**Q: Does the early stage of the season add to the excitement, knowing there’s still room to grow?**

**Brendan Rodgers:** “Absolutely. That’s always been my approach—continuously improving, especially on an individual level. Regardless of winning margins, we have a responsibility to develop players. Wins like Tuesday’s, or our performance against Atalanta, boost our confidence. The level we showed with and without the ball was high, and that’s encouraging as we move forward. But there’s plenty of room for team and individual improvement, and I’m confident we’ll see that growth in the months ahead.”
