Celtic winger Nico Kuhn is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League clubs, with Brentford among the clubs said to be monitoring his progress.
The 24-year-old German winger, who has been steadily growing in prominence at Celtic, is said to be a potential transfer target for Brentford, especially if key player Bryan Mbeumo departs in January. Mbeumo, who has been in excellent form with eight goals this season in the Premier League, is thought to be on the radar of several top clubs, potentially leading to a significant transfer deal.
Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle have also been linked with the Celtic star, highlighting the growing attention he is receiving from England’s top tier.
Mbeumo still has two years remaining on his contract with Brentford, but the intense interest in him could force the club to sell, which would have a knock-on effect on their transfer plans, with Kuhn reportedly seen as a potential replacement.
Celtic, however, are not actively looking to sell Kuhn. The winger, who signed a five-year deal in January after joining from Rapid Vienna for a reported £3m, has become a key player under Brendan Rodgers. The Celtic manager will be keen to retain him, particularly given his recent performances.
Should Brentford or any other Premier League club firm up their interest, Celtic are expected to demand a hefty fee, with reports suggesting a £25m asking price for the German. If that price is met, it would represent a significant profit for the club, following the recent trend of Celtic making impressive transfer dealings, such as Matt O’Riley’s record-breaking move after being signed for just £1.5m.
