“I’m not even sure if the noise is even humane” – Johnston Hails Electric Celtic Park Champions League Nights

Alistair Johnston recently shared his thoughts on life at Celtic and the intensity of playing in the Champions League. Speaking candidly, he described the incredible atmosphere at Celtic Park and reflected on lessons from the team’s recent European away matches.

Johnston stated in an interview with TNT Sports, “Celtic Park on a Champions League night is truly unmatched. When the anthem plays, the sound is almost otherworldly, like a primal roar from the crowd of 60,000. It’s a powerful experience that sends chills down your spine, and if you can’t get energized for the game after that, you’re probably in the wrong career.”

He added, “Regardless of the game situation, if things aren’t going as planned, we can regroup, get organized into a 4-4-2, and stay solid. We aim to play attacking football, but there are times we need to defend, and now we can look back with pride at a performance where we held our ground and earned a tough away point.”

Johnston’s remarks highlight the electric connection between the players and fans at Celtic Park, especially on big European nights. His perspective also reflects a strong tactical awareness, emphasizing the need for adaptability and defensive resilience in challenging matches across Europe.
