Cameron Carter-Vickers shares how he plans to stay fit at Celtic after ‘frustrating’ injury troubles

Cameron Carter-Vickers, back in form for Celtic, is ready for the upcoming Champions League match against RB Leipzig after recovering from a foot injury. The U.S. international made his return as a substitute against Motherwell and has since started in games against Dundee and Aberdeen, scoring the opening goal in a decisive 6-0 Premier Sports Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen.

Carter-Vickers, who has dealt with various injuries at Celtic, including toe pain and a hamstring issue that caused him to miss 42 days last season and 84 days in 2022/23, spoke to *The Daily Record* about his commitment to staying fit. He expressed his desire to play as often as possible, saying, “It’s obviously frustrating when I can’t, but it’s good to be out there and, hopefully, that continues.” He hopes to maintain fitness and avoid injury interruptions.

Reflecting on his recent foot pain, which began during an away match against St. Mirren, he shared that he continued playing through the discomfort in subsequent games against Rangers and during an international break. However, the pain intensified after the Champions League match against Slovan, requiring rest.

Carter-Vickers emphasized the importance of regaining rhythm and consistency to perform at his best. Since his return, Celtic’s defense has not conceded in their last three domestic games, underscoring his impact on the team. Now, he aims to carry this strong form into Europe, as the team looks to keep another clean sheet against high-level competition like RB Leipzig.
