Celtic winger Marco Tilio left the field in tears after re-injuring his hamstring during a loan match with Melbourne City. The 23-year-old, on loan from Celtic, is aiming to regain the form that initially earned him a move to Glasgow. After scoring a decisive goal on the opening day against Newcastle Jets, Tilio was forced to leave the game against Western United after just 39 minutes. Melbourne City manager Aurelio Vidmar commented that it appears to be a hamstring issue, though possibly less severe than the one he had upon joining Celtic. Tilio joined Celtic last summer for £2 million but returned to Melbourne City on loan for the 2024/25 season, having made only two appearances for the Scottish champions. He had previously impressed at City with 22 goals and 19 assists in 91 games. Despite his struggles adjusting to training at Lennoxtown, Tilio hopes to either earn a move to Europe or return to Celtic if he can find his form again.
