Smoke Delays Start as Celtic Surge to 3-0 Lead in Semi-Final Against Aberdeen
Celtic took a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime against Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden, with goals from Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Daizen Maeda.
The game experienced a delayed kick-off after smoke from a pre-match pyrotechnics display clouded visibility on the pitch, causing concerns about VAR’s accuracy in making crucial calls through the haze.
Celtic opened scoring in the 29th minute with Carter-Vickers heading in from an Arne Engels corner. Just minutes later, Maeda set up Furuhashi for the second, who struck the bar before it bounced into the net. Maeda then scored the third after a well-placed pass from Nicolas Kuhn, giving Celtic a solid advantage by the 40th minute and control over the match.
