Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that Odin Thiago Holm has been struggling with a calf injury, which explains the young midfielder’s recent absence from games. Ahead of Celtic’s League Cup clash with Aberdeen, Rodgers shared that Holm has been sidelined for a while but reassured fans that the rest of the squad is fit.
Holm, who joined Celtic from Valerenga last summer, was seen as a future prospect. The 21-year-old has made 16 appearances with one goal and one assist. However, since his red card against Feyenoord, his playtime has decreased. Rodgers mentioned Holm’s talent but emphasized the need for him to work harder in training, similar to his approach with Bosun Lawal before his transfer to Stoke City.
There had been speculation about Holm’s status after he missed the team photo, although he was later seen in training. It’s now believed that he was undergoing treatment during that time.
