Ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield, manager Arne Slot has provided updates on the squad’s injuries.
Liverpool recently defeated Brighton 3-2 in the Carabao Cup, but they’ll be without several key players for this league clash. Diogo Jota (ribs) and Harvey Elliott (fractured foot) are confirmed to miss out and won’t return until after the upcoming international break. Alisson Becker remains sidelined for a fifth consecutive game as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Summer signing Federico Chiesa, who has missed the past six matches, is also out. Slot confirmed Chiesa has faced challenges in sustaining training sessions and won’t be available for Brighton or the upcoming games against Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa. Slot added, “It’s hard to predict exactly when they’ll be ready. The final stage of recovery can always vary, but we hope Chiesa can make progress during the international break.”
Liverpool’s next match after the break is an away game against Southampton on Sunday, November 25.
