Liverpool and Brighton are both dealing with injury setbacks ahead of their Premier League clash this weekend. This fixture follows Liverpool’s recent Carabao Cup win over Brighton, where they secured a 3-2 victory with Cody Gakpo scoring twice and Luis Diaz adding a goal.
Injuries kept several players from both squads sidelined for the cup game, and they may remain out for the Premier League rematch. For Liverpool, Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, and Diogo Jota are expected to be absent until after the November international break. Alisson has been out with a hamstring issue since the Crystal Palace game in October, while Chiesa and Elliott continue their recoveries from foot and rib injuries, respectively.
Brighton faces similar injury woes, with Adam Webster, James Milner, and Solly March ruled out. Some players, however, could return for this match, including Matt O’Riley and Joao Pedro, both recovering from ankle injuries. Lewis Dunk, sidelined with a calf issue, is also undergoing assessments and could potentially play. Yankuba Minteh remains doubtful, but Ferdi Kadioglu, who sustained a minor injury during the recent Carabao Cup, might be fit for selection.
