Brendan Rodgers has announced that Adam Idah will be fit for Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Aberdeen. The Republic of Ireland forward missed the midweek 2-0 victory over Dundee due to an ankle injury, but he has recovered and will be part of a nearly complete squad as Celtic aims for success at Hampden Park.
Rodgers stated, “We are in a really good place. Everyone is fit and healthy. The only concern is Odin (Thiago Holm), who has been sidelined with calf issues. Other than that, I’m pleased we’ve navigated this period in good health.”
When asked about expectations from Aberdeen—who recently equalized after trailing 2-0 in their last meeting—Rodgers remarked, “Having faced them a couple of weeks ago, we know they are a strong team that has performed exceptionally well this season. It’s a semi-final, and everyone wants to reach the final. We’re looking forward to it and feel positive as a squad.”
Reflecting on the previous encounter, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Rodgers noted, “It was a match we should have won. I’ve been clear about that, especially after analyzing it. We led 2-0 and had more chances, but we were penalized for our lack of focus in the first 15 to 20 minutes of the second half.”
