As Celtic gears up for their Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, manager Brendan Rodgers has shared an optimistic report regarding the team’s fitness.
With both teams closely competing in the Scottish Premiership, the upcoming match at Hampden Park holds significant importance beyond just reaching the final.
Celtic is nearly at full strength, with only one confirmed absence—Odin Thiago Holm, who is out due to a calf injury.
“We are in a really good place. Everyone is fit and healthy,” Rodgers stated on Celtic TV. “We’ve only got Odin who has been sidelined for a bit with calf issues. Apart from that, I’m really pleased that we have managed to navigate this period in a healthy manner. Fitness-wise, everything is good.”
This means that players such as Adam Idah, Nicolas Kuhn, and Callum McGregor are all available for selection.
It is expected that McGregor and Kuhn will return to the starting lineup, as Rodgers plans to revert most of the rotations made for the recent midweek match against Dundee.
Idah will likely play some role in the game, although Kyogo is anticipated to lead the attack from the start, with Idah coming on later.
Aberdeen will enter the match with a boost in confidence after a 2-1 victory over Rangers, while Celtic won 2-0 against Dundee midweek.
The clash at the national stadium promises to be thrilling, though fans hope it won’t be as dramatic as their last encounter in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
