Liverpool and Brighton face fresh injury battles as they prepare to meet again in the Premier League, following Liverpool’s 3-2 Carabao Cup victory over the Seagulls midweek. Arne Slot’s team advanced to the quarter-finals thanks to a Cody Gakpo brace and a goal from Luis Diaz, but several players on both sides are still sidelined for Saturday’s clash at Anfield.
Liverpool will be without Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, and Diogo Jota, who aren’t expected to return until after the November international break. Alisson has missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury, while Chiesa’s fitness issues have kept him out during his debut season at Anfield. Elliott has been sidelined since August with a fractured foot, and Jota is recovering from a rib injury sustained in the win over Chelsea.
Brighton, meanwhile, are missing Adam Webster (hamstring), James Milner (hamstring), and Solly March (knee), but there is hope for returns from other players. Matt O’Riley and Joao Pedro are back in training after ankle injuries, and Lewis Dunk may also return, pending a final assessment. Yankuba Minteh remains a doubt due to injury, while Ferdi Kadioglu could be fit after an injury scare in the Carabao Cup match.
