Simon Donnelly believes that Auston Trusty and Luke McCowan have earned their spots in Celtic’s starting XI as they prepare to face Dundee at Parkhead tonight. Celtic is looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership, having only dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen, who are currently behind the Hoops on goal difference.
With a busy schedule ahead, including a League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen on Saturday and a Champions League match against RB Leipzig next Tuesday, manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to rotate the squad.
On Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Donnelly praised McCowan’s recent performances, highlighting his positive impact after coming off the bench and scoring in the recent 3-0 victory over Motherwell. He expressed confidence that McCowan should retain his place in the lineup.
Regarding Trusty, Donnelly suggested that he should also start, noting that it will be interesting to see how Rodgers organizes the defense. He mentioned that Carter-Vickers and Trusty might form a solid partnership in central defense. He also discussed Liam Scales’ potential role, indicating that the versatility of the players gives Rodgers good options for the lineup.
