Report: Competition for places makes Celtic stronger, says James Forrest….

With four assists in 13 appearances this season, the Celtic legend has established himself as a dependable player for Brendan Rodgers as he heads into the final year of his contract.

Forrest Emerges as Celtic’s Steady Hand

Under Rodgers, Forrest has become a steady hand for the team. While often underappreciated, the 33-year-old’s seasoned presence in the dressing room deserves major recognition. His calm demeanor, combined with years of experience in domestic play, is a valuable asset that Celtic can rely on.

In September, Forrest, who has been loyal to Celtic for his entire 15-year career, celebrated his 500th appearance in a memorable 3-0 derby win against Rangers.

Approaching Bobby Lennox’s Record

With 508 appearances, 107 goals, and 109 assists to his name, Forrest remains focused on the next game for his boyhood club. If Celtic defeat Aberdeen on Saturday to reach the Scottish League Cup final, Forrest will be within one game of matching Bobby Lennox’s record of 25 trophies. By season’s end, he could realistically become the most decorated Celtic player in history.

After an impressive performance on Sunday at Fir Park, the 33-year-old is hoping to secure a starting spot in tonight’s Scottish Premiership match against Dundee at Paradise.

Forrest Embraces Rotation

Regarding rotation, Forrest has welcomed Brendan Rodgers’ approach of leveraging Celtic’s deep squad this season.

In an interview yesterday, Forrest stated, “It’s great for the manager and players to utilize the squad. Early on, we had a week between games, but now the matches are frequent. At a big club like Celtic, competing in every tournament, all the players are excited. I had a strong pre-season, and I’m enjoying contributing when I get the chance.”

“It reflects our confidence in the squad, allowing for two or three lineup changes based on each match, which will benefit us in the coming months. At Celtic, we’ve always done this, particularly in forward positions where rotation keeps options fresh.”

“It keeps everyone sharp, and we know we need to perform when given the chance. So far, everyone’s been doing that.”

With Celtic facing Dundee tonight, followed by two more matches in different competitions, Rodgers will need to manage his squad thoughtfully. Tony Docherty’s team may not pose much of a challenge, making this an ideal moment for further squad rotation.
