Given the intense discussion around our recent game with Arsenal, you’d be forgiven for thinking Liverpool was injury-free, but Arne Slot had a lengthy update ahead of the next match.
In his pre-match press conference for Brighton, the manager shared: “Conor [Bradley] is back in training, so he might be in the squad tomorrow. [Diogo] Jota, Alisson, Harvey Elliott, and Federico [Chiesa] aren’t likely to make it.”
On Federico Chiesa, Slot added: “It’s hard to set a timeframe for him. His progress fluctuates—he trains a few days, then has a setback. We want him in the best possible shape without any pressure from deadlines.”
Of the five players, it seems only Conor Bradley may return, while the others might remain sidelined until after the next international break—posing a major concern.
Liverpool’s injury struggles are far from over. Despite managing well so far, fewer players means extra minutes for those fit, especially with our attack missing two key players. Slot even joked about recalling Ben Doak given his form in the Championship.
Here’s hoping these setbacks end soon, giving us a fully fit squad as we chase silverware this season.
