Crystal Palace are contemplating whether to recall Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from his loan at Sheffield United during the January transfer window, according to former Man United, West Ham, and Sunderland scout Mick Brown. Brown, who spoke exclusively to *Football Insider*, indicated that while Rak-Sakyi is likely to stay on loan for now, Palace have kept the recall option open.
The departure of Michael Olise has left a gap in Oliver Glasner’s side on the right wing, and the club is reviewing its options. Rak-Sakyi, 22, joined Sheffield United on loan this summer for a fee that could reach £4 million, with Palace inserting a break clause. They see him as a future first-team player, and his performances in the Championship have impressed.
So far, Rak-Sakyi has made 12 appearances under Chris Wilder, starting eight and scoring two goals with one assist. This progress has led Palace to consider recalling him earlier than planned to give him a shot at regular Premier League minutes.
After struggling with injuries last season, Rak-Sakyi has hit his stride in the Championship, with Palace closely monitoring his progress. Brown explained, “Palace have kept tabs on him. He went to Sheffield United because he wasn’t going to get weekly games at Selhurst Park, which remains the case. They’ve had issues in his position, and while they have considered recalling him, it’s likely he’ll stay on loan.”
Meanwhile, there is news that Oliver Glasner may have just “saved his job” at Crystal Palace.
