‘Absolutely no doubt’: Brendan Rodgers told to sign player for Celtic who Rangers can’t ‘afford’….

Although the transfer window is still two months away, Celtic is being urged to pursue a player who would likely be too costly for Rangers.

Celtic’s recent financial report has reinforced their position as Scotland’s wealthiest club, capable of outbidding any other Scottish Premiership team if they choose to. With a strong first-team squad already, Brendan Rodgers is unlikely to sit back and is expected to seek reinforcements in January.

Peter Grant has recommended Celtic sign an SPFL player who he believes is “more than capable” of fitting into Celtic’s first team right now.

Grant suggested Lennon Miller as a potential signing, noting Rangers might struggle to afford him. Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, he said, “I thought Celtic or Rangers should sign him for sure. He’s more than capable of playing in those teams. I’m not sure Rangers could afford him, and this may be Celtic’s strongest area at the moment. But for a player like him, it’s about taking the opportunity.”

Grant likened Miller’s potential move to Celtic to that of Luke McCowan, emphasizing that talent should be valued regardless of a player’s origin. At 18, Miller would need time to adapt to European competition, but Grant believes involvement in these games is the best way to learn.

Brendan Rodgers and other pundits have previously discussed Miller’s potential fit at Celtic. After his breakthrough season at Motherwell, Miller, now 18, has accumulated 51 appearances, scoring five goals and making six assists, making him one of Scotland’s top young prospects.

Others have echoed the sentiment. Charlie Mulgrew called Miller “a level-headed player from a good family” and suggested he’d be a great addition for either Celtic or Rangers. Miller, who has shared a few words with Rodgers, appreciated the acknowledgment but stays focused on his development. Michael Stewart added that while Motherwell may have a ceiling price for Miller, his value could skyrocket if he moved to a different league. Jim Duffy also believes that Miller, who has 16 youth caps for Scotland, is likely to attract considerable interest, including from Celtic and Rangers.
