Report:Injury Concerns Mount for Brighton as Key Pair Face Scans Ahead of Liverpool Clashes

Brighton faces significant injury concerns as they prepare for back-to-back matches against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and the Premier League. Key defender and captain Lewis Dunk is doubtful after pulling up with a muscle issue during the warm-up ahead of Brighton’s clash with Wolves, leading to his replacement by Igor Julio. Head coach Fabian Huerzeler confirmed that Dunk will undergo a scan to assess the extent of the injury.

Additionally, winger Yankuba Minteh remains uncertain after missing consecutive games due to an undisclosed issue. Minteh, a summer signing from Newcastle United who impressed last season under Liverpool’s Arne Slot at Feyenoord, has contributed one goal and one assist for the Seagulls. Huerzeler expressed hope for Minteh’s return, noting they are monitoring his recovery day by day.

Brighton will also be without several other key players: James Milner (thigh), Joao Pedro (ankle), Solly March (knee), Matt O’Riley (ankle), and Adam Webster (thigh) are all sidelined, while Georginio Rutter is ineligible for the cup match.
