Report: Jack Hinshelwood absence explained for Brighton vs Wolves as Fabian Hurzeler makes bold decision….

Brighton midfielder Jack Hinshelwood was a surprise omission from Fabian Hurzeler’s lineup against Wolves at the Amex Stadium today.

Hinshelwood has been a consistent presence for the Seagulls this season, offering valuable versatility by playing both as a full-back and in midfield. However, he misses his first league game of the season due to a “minor issue” and has been left out of the squad as a “precaution.”

The Seagulls are also missing Yankuba Minteh, who is recovering from a “muscular issue,” while Brazilian forward Joao Pedro remains out with an ankle injury suffered during the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.

Additionally, defender Adam Webster (hamstring), James Milner (hamstring), Matt O’Riley (knee), and Solly March (knee) are unavailable.

In total, there are three changes from the 1-0 victory over Newcastle. Defender Jan Paul van Hecke is back from a groin injury, replacing Igor, while left-back Pervis Estupinan fills in for the injured Hinshelwood. Japan international Kaoru Mitoma returns to the starting lineup, replacing striker Evan Ferguson, who moves to the bench.

Danny Welbeck, who has scored five goals this season, has recovered from a back injury picked up at Newcastle and is fit to start against Wolves.

**Brighton Starting XI:** Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Estupinan; Baleba, Ayari, Kadioglu; Rutter, Welbeck, Mitoma. Subs: Steele, Lamptey, Igor, Gruda, Enciso, Adingra, Moder, Wieffer, Ferguson.

Wolves, currently at the bottom of the Premier League and looking for their first win, are hoping to improve on past mistakes. Hurzeler pointed to missed opportunities in the 0-0 draw against Ipswich earlier this season.

“The mistakes were not scoring a goal. I demand things that I can influence like good counter-pressing,” said Hurzeler to Sussex World. “Having more players in the box increases the chances of scoring. Maybe we need to create more chances to find that winning goal. I try to push the players to focus on what they can control.”
