Celtic’s “impressive” loan star is now worth even more than Adam Idah after leaving Parkhead

Celtic’s recent 0-0 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League highlighted their improved defensive capabilities, anchored by veteran goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, marking their first European clean sheet in seven years. While their defense has solidified, Celtic’s real strength remains in their offense, with an impressive 24 goals from just eight league games this season. In contrast, Rangers, now no longer considered their main title challengers, have scored only 12 goals in the same period, underlining Celtic’s superior attacking prowess.

Wingers Daizen Maeda and Nicholas Kuhn have each contributed six league goals, while competition at center-forward is heating up with Kyogo Furuhashi challenged by Adam Idah. Initially doubted by some, including club legend Chris Sutton, Idah has silenced critics by making a substantial impact since joining Celtic, first on loan and then permanently for a £9.5 million fee. The Irish striker ended last season with nine goals in 19 games, including a memorable last-minute winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers. This season, he has continued to contribute with four goals in all competitions, despite finding the net only once in the Premiership.

Idah’s Celtic journey is reminiscent of former young talents like Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard, demonstrating the club’s continued success in developing promising strikers. With 13 goals in 30 appearances for Celtic, Idah is proving to be a valuable asset.
