Takumi Minamino, a former Liverpool forward, is reportedly being considered for a Premier League return with Brighton & Hove Albion, according to Spanish source *Fichajes*. Minamino’s impressive form at Monaco has drawn interest from Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler. Known for his versatility, Minamino can play on either wing or as a No. 10, making him an appealing option for the Seagulls.
Beyond his adaptability, Brighton values Minamino’s tactical intelligence, which they believe would integrate well into their dynamic and complex playing style. His experience at the highest levels, including appearances in the Champions League with both Liverpool and Monaco, is another reason for Brighton’s interest, as they look to strengthen their squad for potential European competition.
Although *Fichajes* does not specify a transfer fee, previous estimates suggest Minamino could be valued at around €20 million (£17 million or $22 million). The report highlights that Minamino is open to the idea of returning to England, eager to test himself against top-tier opponents.
A move to Brighton would see Minamino reunite with his fellow Japanese international, Kaoru Mitoma. His time in England previously included a stint with Liverpool from January 2020 to July 2022, where he was part of the squad that won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup. Despite limited opportunities at Liverpool, Minamino made 14 goals and three assists in 55 appearances and spent six months on loan at Southampton.
Since his move to Monaco in summer 2022, Minamino has become a key player for the French side. This season, he has registered three goals and two assists in 10 appearances, mainly playing as a No. 10 or right winger. Given his current form, Minamino is hopeful of making an impact if he joins Brighton and breaking into their starting lineup.
