BBC Report: “Doesn’t work that way” – Manager insists Brighton not imposing conditions on loan player……

In the summer transfer window, Brighton & Hove Albion loaned Ibrahim Osman to Feyenoord.

The winger has accumulated 358 minutes across six appearances, contributing one goal and two assists.

Brighton had previously loaned Yankuba Minteh to the Eredivisie side last season after signing him from Newcastle United. According to *De Telegraaf*, Feyenoord may continue a strategy of developing Premier League loanees like Minteh and Osman.

Osman recently notched a goal and two assists in Feyenoord’s 5-1 win against Go Ahead Eagles. The 19-year-old believes he could be more effective if manager Brian Priske played him in his favored left-wing position instead of the right.

“My first period at Feyenoord had its ups and downs. With the support of my teammates and coaches, I’m improving every day. I’m learning more about my fellow players,” Osman said.

“On the right, I sometimes have to think more, but on the left, my actions feel more natural. Still, I’m happy to have started and played 90 minutes against Go Ahead Eagles for the first time in five months. I hope to play again, especially against Benfica.”

The Ghanaian also mentioned that Brighton maintains regular contact with him to support his development.

“After each match, Brighton’s loan management checks in. We go over my performance, discussing strengths and areas for improvement, and they offer advice on when to pass or dribble,” Osman explained.

Feyenoord’s manager, Priske, acknowledges the ongoing communication between Brighton and Osman.

“Of course, there’s coordination between the clubs. Brighton invested significantly in him and they want to keep track of his progress in Rotterdam,” he noted.

Priske is aware of Osman’s preference to play on the left but dismissed any suggestion that Brighton influences his decisions on Osman’s positioning.

“I know Ibrahim prefers the left side. We discuss it. But if we think it’s best for Feyenoord, he will play there,” Priske said.

“No, Brighton isn’t dictating terms to us. It doesn’t work like that. We make our own decisions—Osman is a Feyenoord player this season, not Brighton’s.”
