Breaking:New York Jets Owner Says ‘Thinking is Overrated’ After Adams Trade

The New York Jets have been making significant moves recently, including finalizing a trade to bring wide receiver Davante Adams to the team, and allowing holdout Haason Reddick’s new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, a chance to explore trade opportunities for the Pro Bowl pass rusher. Despite the Jets’ challenging 2-4 start to the season, team owner Woody Johnson has shown a bold, forward-thinking approach. In a recent NFL owners’ meeting in Atlanta, Johnson made it clear that he was not focused on the team’s current struggles but was instead looking ahead, emphasizing the need for instinctive decisions and believing in the team’s potential.

The past week has been particularly eventful for the Jets. On Tuesday, Johnson made the controversial decision to fire head coach Robert Saleh after a disappointing 2-3 start, including a loss in London. Saleh was reportedly on the verge of making a key change himself—demoting offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett—before being let go. In a surprising move, defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich was promoted to interim head coach, and Jeff Downing was given play-calling duties.

Meanwhile, Johnson has been deeply involved in resolving the Reddick situation, urging the player to end his holdout and return to the team. However, Reddick made headlines by firing his previous agency, CAA, and hiring Rosenhaus, a prominent sports agent, after reportedly rejecting a one-year deal that would have allowed him to recoup lost salary. Despite the complications with Reddick’s holdout, Johnson remains focused on trying to turn the team around and believes in their ability to succeed this season.
