Waiver Wire Watch: Will Former Jets DT Soon be Available?

Quinten Jefferson, a defensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns, might be a potential target for the New York Jets as he could be on his way out due to a roster shuffle. Jefferson was a healthy scratch this week as the Browns activated players coming off injured reserve. The Jets, while boasting one of the league’s top defenses, have shown some vulnerability against the run and may need more consistent pass-rushing support in the middle, which Jefferson could provide.

Jefferson played well alongside Quinnen Williams during his time with the Jets last season, where he notched a career-high six sacks and 34 tackles, including four tackles for loss. With Cleveland, he has been contributing in a backup role, picking up six tackles and a sack. As Cleveland shuffles its lineup, the Jets could benefit from bringing back Jefferson to reinforce their defensive line.
