Wolves are facing concerns over Hwang Hee-chan’s fitness after he sustained an injury during South Korea’s international match against Jordan. Hwang was forced off the field just 23 minutes into the game after a heavy tackle caused his ankle to twist awkwardly. Initial reports suggest the possibility of a high-grade ankle sprain or syndesmosis injury, with some fear that surgery may be required.
Injury expert Physio Scout shared that recovery could take 8-10 weeks if surgery is needed, although there’s a small chance it could be 3-4 weeks if the damage is moderate. Hwang was reportedly seen in a wheelchair following the injury, which adds to concerns about the severity.
This injury adds pressure on Wolves manager Gary O’Neil, who already faces challenges with squad fitness and performance as the team navigates a tough Premier League season .
