Kris Boyd was surprised by the decision not to send off Nicolas Kuhn after the Celtic winger celebrated his late goal with the away crowd. Kuhn, 24, scored an 88th-minute winner against Ross County, which sparked wild celebrations as he leaped into the crowd. Boyd questioned why Kuhn, who was already on a yellow card, wasn’t shown a second booking for his actions. He commented, “The rules must have changed because I thought he got booked.”
However, former SPFL referee Bobby Madden clarified that it’s no longer mandatory to give a yellow card for crowd celebrations, a rule change that has been in place for over a decade. Madden defended the decision by referee Kevin Clancy, sharing past examples, including Tom Rogic’s 2017 celebration, where players were not penalized for celebrating with fans.
