BREAKING NEWS: Leeds is prepared to deploy a wildcard against Coventry, providing a significant boost with the return of Ethan Ampadu.

There is speculation that Ethan Ampadu might replace Pascal Struijk in Leeds United’s defense against Coventry, but this could be off the mark. Leeds manager Daniel Farke has highlighted James Debayo, a young talent who has been with the senior squad since pre-season, as a potential defensive option.

Despite Ampadu being the most experienced choice to partner Joe Rodon, Farke has been preparing the 19-year-old Debayo for a senior debut. Debayo has been included in every matchday squad this season but is yet to play. With Max Wöber unavailable and Struijk’s fitness in doubt, Debayo could be given the opportunity to step up.

Farke expressed optimism about Struijk’s potential availability but acknowledged that if both Struijk and Wöber are sidelined, Debayo is a serious option. He praised Debayo’s progress in training and suggested that the youngster is ready for a more prominent role .
