West Ham United are reportedly preparing a £34 million bid for Brighton & Hove Albion’s attacking midfielder Julio Enciso ahead of the January transfer window. Enciso, a Paraguayan international, has struggled for regular playing time under Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler this season, with just 39 minutes of Premier League action, as Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck have been preferred in the starting lineup.
Enciso, who joined Brighton in 2022 for £10 million, has shown flashes of his talent but hasn’t cemented a regular starting spot. West Ham, under new manager Julen Lopetegui, have already made significant signings, including Max Kilman and Niclas Füllkrug, and are looking to further strengthen their squad. The potential bid for Enciso comes as West Ham look for creative options, although they may need to sell players first due to their heavy summer spending.
Brighton are known for selling players at a profit, and with Enciso’s contract running until 2026, a substantial offer could be tempting for the Seagulls. However, West Ham’s financial flexibility in January may depend on outgoing transfers.
