Celtic are set to face Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final this weekend, as they chase their first trophy of the season. Despite Celtic’s momentum following their 5-1 Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava, they’ll need to be cautious against a Falkirk side on a remarkable 43-game unbeaten league run, currently sitting atop the Championship.
The game, taking place at Parkhead on Sunday, September 22, kicks off at 3pm and will be broadcast live on Premier Sports 1. Brendan Rodgers may rotate his squad following the Champions League match, with players like Anthony Ralston, Paulo Bernardo, Adam Idah, James Forrest, and potentially Auston Trusty, who could make his full debut, all in contention for starting spots.
Falkirk, led by John McGlynn, who previously worked under Rodgers at Celtic, will be hoping to capitalize on any changes to cause an upset and secure a place in the semi-finals.
Referee Calum Scott will officiate the match, assisted by David Dunne and Graeme Stewart, with Andrew Dallas overseeing VAR alongside Andrew McWilliam.
