Tom Lawrence is hoping for more talks with Craig Bellamy regarding a potential return to the Wales national team following his impressive performances for Rangers this season. The 30-year-old last represented Wales in a 1-0 win against Mexico in March 2021 but has struggled with injuries and consistency since then.
After a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign, Lawrence is optimistic about rekindling his international career. He revealed that he had a conversation with Bellamy before the recent international break, with both parties agreeing to reassess the situation before the next set of fixtures.
Lawrence has been in fine form for Rangers, contributing two goals and an assist in their last three games, including a winning goal against Dundee United. With upcoming matches against Iceland and Montenegro in October, Bellamy may recall Lawrence, especially given his recent resurgence.
However, Rangers manager Philippe Clement might prefer Lawrence to use the break to rest, but a return to international football could also boost the player’s confidence and reward his efforts to regain form and fitness. For now, the focus remains on staying fit and continuing his strong contributions at club level.
