Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell was involved in a car crash this morning near Elland Road, where a collision occurred between his Land Rover Defender and a police vehicle. Fortunately, the 21-year-old player was unharmed in the incident and is available for the second leg of Leeds’ Sky Bet Championship semi-final play-off against Norwich tonight.
Emergency services attended the scene, and a police officer was treated for minor injuries. West Yorkshire Police confirmed that their enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Cresswell, a product of Leeds’ academy, has made seven appearances this season, and although he was an unused substitute in the first leg, he remains available for tonight’s crucial play-off match.
Leeds United are vying for a return to the Premier League after finishing third in the Championship, behind Leicester City and Ipswich Town.
