Sad News:Sunderland former manager died after a battle with pancreatic cancer

Lauren Laverne, the former star of the band Kenickie and the current host of BBC’s *Desert Island Discs*, revealed on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with cancer. The 46-year-old shared that the cancer was “caught early and unexpectedly during a screening test,” and she is expected to make a full recovery.

In her post, Laverne expressed her gratitude to the medical professionals who have provided her with care, as well as her colleagues for their support and understanding in giving her the time off she needs to recover. She also thanked her family and friends for their unwavering support throughout her journey.

She emphasized the importance of early detection, noting that “half of us will get cancer at some point and finding out asap is everything.”
