Rangers are working to strengthen their defense before the transfer window closes, with a focus on securing a new centre-half. The club is reportedly close to finalizing a loan deal for Dutch defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo from Feyenoord. This move comes as Rangers manager Philippe Clement looks to bolster his options at the back, particularly after Ben Davies’ loan move to Birmingham City and ongoing fitness concerns with veteran Leon Balogun.
Kasanwirjo, who is 22 years old, has struggled to break into the first team at Feyenoord after joining from Groningen in January 2023. He spent the previous season on loan at Rapid Vienna, where he made 28 appearances, primarily as a right-back. The deal with Rangers is expected to include an option to buy, giving the club the flexibility to make the move permanent if Kasanwirjo impresses.
In addition to Kasanwirjo, Rangers have also been linked with Stanley Nsoki of Hoffenheim, another centre-half who previously worked with Clement during his time at Club Brugge. The potential signing of Kasanwirjo could be the start of a busy day at Ibrox, with further transfers and departures anticipated as the club looks to finalize its squad for the season.
