Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a double setback ahead of their Premier League clash against Everton, with key players Dominic Solanke and Rodrigo Bentancur ruled out of the match.
Dominic Solanke, Tottenham’s new £65 million signing, picked up an ankle injury during their 1-1 draw with Leicester City. Although he managed to finish the game, the injury worsened afterward, and he has been ruled out of the match against Everton. Manager Ange Postecoglou reassured fans that the injury is not serious, but Solanke remains a doubt for the following weekend’s fixture against Newcastle.
Rodrigo Bentancur will also miss the Everton match due to concussion protocols. This opens up the possibility for Yves Bissouma, who is available again after serving a suspension, to return to the starting lineup. Alternatively, summer signing Archie Gray might be given a chance in midfield.
On a more positive note, Richarlison is fit to start against his former club after making a brief appearance against Leicester. Pedro Porro, who suffered a foot injury in the same game, has been passed fit and will be available to play.
Tottenham will be looking to secure their first win of the season against Everton, despite these injury concerns.
