Tottenham ready to make £25m bid to sign ‘exceptional’ player before deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still active in the transfer market, with interest in signing Brazilian right-back Vanderson from AS Monaco. According to *L’Equipe*, Spurs are willing to offer €30 million (£25m) for the versatile defender, who has been impressive in Ligue 1. Despite Vanderson’s talent, there are questions about whether Tottenham really need another right-back, especially after the departure of Emerson Royal.

Pedro Porro remains the first-choice right-back under manager Ange Postecoglou, and Tottenham also have Djed Spence, who is expected to stay with the club, and new signing Archie Gray, who can cover the position if needed. Given this depth, some believe that Tottenham would be better off using the funds to strengthen other areas, particularly left-back, where competition is needed for Destiny Udogie, with Ben Davies seen as less effective in that role.

While Vanderson’s arrival could provide additional quality and depth, it might not be the most strategic use of resources given the club’s current needs.
