Former Stoke City loan star Ki-Jana Hoever will spend another season away from Wolves, having signed a new contract extension at Molineux.
As he did last summer when he extended his contract before returning to Stoke City on loan, the 22-year-old has once again committed his future to Wolves. However, this time, he will spend the 2024/25 season on loan with Ligue 1 club Auxerre.
Hoever heads to France after two successful loan spells with Stoke City. He first joined the Potters under Alex Neil in January 2023 and then continued under Steven Schumacher last season. During his time at Stoke, he made 61 appearances and scored eight goals. There was some hope that he might return to the club permanently this summer, but that possibility quickly faded.
After returning to Wolves, Hoever played a significant role in the team’s pre-season, traveling to Marbella and the USA with Gary O’Neil’s squad. However, due to strong competition for places, it was decided that another loan move would be best for his development.
Matt Jackson, Wolves’ head of professional football development, commented: “Ki has progressed well on his previous loans and continues to mature. He had a strong pre-season with Gary and his staff, but we believe a different challenge in France will be most beneficial for his personal development.”
