Four Rangers fans have been indefinitely banned from attending matches after a woman was assaulted and robbed outside Hampden Park before Rangers’ game against St Johnstone on Saturday. The 51-year-old woman, an employee of St Johnstone, was attacked, and a drum she was carrying was taken during the incident.
Rangers Football Club has strongly condemned the attack and confirmed their ongoing cooperation with Police Scotland in the investigation. The club also reached out to the victim to check on her wellbeing and issued an apology on behalf of the organization.
In a related case, Arran Watt, a 22-year-old Rangers supporter from Irvine, North Ayrshire, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court. Watt is accused of resetting the stolen drum and participating in disorderly conduct near Hampden Park. As part of his bail conditions, he has been ordered to stay at least 500 meters away from stadiums where Rangers are playing. Watt has been charged with assault, robbery, and breach of the peace, among other offenses. He made no plea and was granted bail pending further examination.
Additionally, two other men, aged 16 and 21, were arrested on charges of breach of the peace and resisting arrest in connection with the same incident. The woman involved in the assault did not require hospital treatment.
