Coventry City’s Jack Burroughs, currently on loan at League One side Lincoln City, was recently involved in a serious car accident. The 22-year-old, who has made 33 appearances for Lincoln this season, was driving on the M1 the day before New Year’s Eve when his car hit surface water, causing it to spin out of control and crash into the central reservation. Fortunately, Burroughs was unharmed, but his car was a write-off, leading him to miss Lincoln’s New Year’s Day match against Blackpool.
Coventry City manager Mark Robins commented on the incident, stating that although Burroughs was fine after the accident, he has since been dealing with an ankle injury that has kept him sidelined. Despite these setbacks, Burroughs has had a successful loan spell at Lincoln, where he has become an integral part of the team, particularly in the left wing-back position. He has started 21 League One matches and made five additional appearances from the bench, even scoring in a 2-0 victory over Notts County.
Burroughs expressed his gratitude for the opportunity at Lincoln, emphasizing his commitment to contributing positively to the team. With another year left on his Coventry City contract and the club holding an option to extend it further, his future remains promising as he continues to develop his career.
