Football Insider reports that Celtic’s young talent, Daniel Kelly, has turned down an offer from Tottenham Hotspur. Recently, Spurs have recruited several promising young players, including Lucas Bergvall, Yang Min-hyuk, and Archie Gray. They also attempted to sign the 18-year-old Kelly from Scotland, who had a breakthrough season with Celtic, making 28 appearances under Brendan Rodgers.
Despite interest from both Tottenham and Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, Kelly has reportedly chosen to join Millwall instead. The report suggests that the central midfielder made this decision to secure a quicker path to first-team football, with the Scotland Under-19 international aiming to make an impact in the Championship this season.
At Millwall, Kelly will join former Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga, who recently moved to the club on a free transfer. Although Spurs missed out on Kelly, it is believed that Ange Postecoglou, familiar with the player from his time at Celtic, may have been involved in their pursuit. Tottenham is expected to monitor Kelly’s development over the next year, potentially revisiting a move next summer.
