‘I am sad’ – Another major injury blow for Brighton ahead of next match

The most recent updates regarding Brighton and Hove Albion and the Premier League are as follows:

Brighton and Hove Albion’s head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, anticipates being without top scorer Joao Pedro for the upcoming match against Newcastle. Pedro netted his 20th goal of the season during the 1-0 victory over Aston Villa but unfortunately suffered an injury during training this week.

“Joao Pedro may have an ankle issue, which is unfortunate for us,” De Zerbi stated. “I cannot confirm whether he will return to play this season; this incident occurred today, and I am uncertain if he will be fit for tomorrow’s match. I feel disheartened by this situation, as Joao is a crucial player for us, especially since Julio Enciso and Ansu Fati are not in optimal physical condition.”

On a positive note, Adam Lallana and Tariq Lamptey may be available for selection. However, Evan Ferguson (ankle), Kaoru Mitoma (back), Solly March (knee), Jack Hinshelwood (foot), Pervis Estupinan (ankle), Jan Paul van Hecke (thigh), and James Milner (thigh) will continue to be unavailable.

In other news, Newcastle’s full-back Kieran Trippier is eager to demonstrate his fitness for England’s Euro 2024 finals campaign this weekend, having returned to training after a two-month recovery from a calf injury.
