Breaking News : Luton Town defender collapsed on pitch during training

The captain of Luton Town collapsed on the field during a Premier League match against Bournemouth in December.

He experienced a cardiac arrest during the game against Bournemouth in December, as reported by Rex.

Lockyer, aged 29, revealed that he “literally died” when his heart ceased functioning for two minutes and forty seconds on the field.

The defender had also collapsed during the Championship play-off final against Coventry last May.

In recent months, he has been undergoing rehabilitation with heart specialists in Amsterdam, aiming for a return to competitive play.

Luton Town has now announced that Lockyer has resumed training at the club’s facility.

He is currently following an individualized training regimen and has received a warm welcome back from manager Rob Edwards and his teammates.

Lockyer is also actively collaborating with the British Heart Foundation to raise awareness about CPR and the use of defibrillators.
