Breaking News:Wolves identify perfect replacement of the season

HITC has learned that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in acquiring a player from Brentford this summer as they seek to find a replacement for Pedro Neto.

Previously, it was reported that Chelsea had reached an agreement to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto, with the Portuguese player being officially confirmed by the club over the weekend.

Initially, Neto had garnered interest from Newcastle United earlier in the summer; however, he ultimately chose to join Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea, believing it to be the most beneficial environment for his development.

Wolves have already seen Max Kilman depart for West Ham earlier this summer, and now the Black Country club must search for a suitable replacement for Neto. HITC has been informed that they have identified a potential candidate.

According to sources, Wolves have placed Brentford’s Yoanne Wissa on their list of targets as a possible substitute for Neto.

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has expressed to Sky Sports his desire for the club to acquire more players with Premier League experience, especially given that their recent signings since the conclusion of the 2023-24 season lack such experience.

Sources have indicated to HITC that Wolves have a strong interest in Wissa from Brentford, and importantly, Thomas Frank’s team would be amenable to selling him.

One of the factors contributing to Brentford’s willingness to part with Wissa is the successful transfer activity the London club has undertaken this summer.

Earlier this week, Brentford announced the signing of Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool, and it is understood that the Bees are now open to selling Wissa, particularly in light of this new addition.

Since joining Brentford in the summer of 2021, the DR Congo midfielder has been a standout performer for the club.

In the previous season, Wissa excelled, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists as Brentford secured a mid-table finish.

After a goal against Luton Town last season, manager Frank praised Wissa, describing the 27-year-old as ‘magic’.

Frank expressed his admiration on Brentford’s official website, stating, “It was truly remarkable magic. Wissa executed a superb goal, complemented by an excellent pass from Bryan [Mbeumo]. I am thrilled that Wissa managed to score twice. He has been improving consistently, and I am very satisfied with his performance.”

Replacing Neto for Wolves presents a significant challenge; however, acquiring the ‘magical’ Wissa could serve as a promising beginning for O’Neil’s team in the upcoming summer transfer window.
